Why Use Reprogramming Meditations & Self-Hypnosis?

We humans are not computers, but we have similarities. By understanding how a computer works, we can learn a lot about ourselves.

95% of our lives are influenced by the programs in our subconscious mind. These programs, both positive and negative, run in the background 24/7, shaping our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors (our lives!).

Rewire the brain

Imagine if you didn’t have any negative programs running. What if all your mental programs aligned with your wishes and aspirations? You would probably love your life, right? The good news is that it’s possible to change these programs and eliminate the negative ones.

You can use these recordings to:

  • Shift your subconscious self-image and more easily apply habits aligned with who you want to be. Great for addictions and breaking free from habits of people-pleasing.
  • Relax, shift your state, and uplift your mood. An amazing tool when change feels hard and you feel like giving up.
  • Introduce new thoughts and concepts into your subconscious mind. This can, for example, make it easier for you to speak up or do public speaking.
  • Release outdated beliefs that hinder you. This is a great tool when you are stuck in patterns like codependence or always having to be the peacemaker at work or in the family.
  • Explore underlying causes and repressed memories, leading to healing.
  • Envision your goals and experience them: When you do this correctly, your mind can’t differentiate between reality and imagination. Which will help you transform!
  • Mentally rehearse unfamiliar behaviors to make them more manageable in real life. For example, suppose you are a food- or alcohol addict. In that case, you can rehearse going to a party, having an amazing time, only drinking club soda, or enjoying yourself without falling for the tempting cake table.

The list can go on!

Rewire mental programs

The reprogramming meditations self-hypnosis recordings offered by OUT of MIND are carefully crafted recordings meant to guide you into relaxation, calmness, and a state of reduced brain activity, also known as hypnosis, a natural state that we humans move in and out from throughout the day.

By doing so, you become more open to new ideas and beliefs. These recordings also contain empowering concepts and suggestions to aid in forming new mental programs that align with your aspired-to-live life.

Why is change so hard?

The 5 % of our mind, our conscious mind, is the creative part of us. This part of our mind can learn from reading a book, going to a lecture, or watching a movie. It can learn from something as simple as ”Aha, I just figured that out.”

Subconscious mind

Our conscious creative mind has multiple ways of receiving information, but it’s important to note that the conscious and subconscious (95% of our mind) minds are not directly connected.

Your conscious and subconscious mind are not automatically linked

Just because the conscious mind learns something, it doesn’t mean that the subconscious mind has also learned it. Our subconscious mind, our data bank that contains our programs, our algorithms, and automations, gets the data downloading in different ways than the conscious mind. So, what are these different ways then?

2 Ways The Subconscious Mind Downloads Data

State Of Hypnosis

1. Through the state of hypnosis

One way is when we are in the state of hypnosis, when the vibrational frequency of our brain has decreased, and we are in a state called theta. This is actually our constant state until we are about 6-7 years old because our critical mind has yet to develop, so we simply download everything in our surroundings, beliefs from our family, society, you name it.

Many downloaded programs from childhood are purely for survival, not for empowering us

A big part of all our programs comes from this period in our lives, so you also understand that a lot needs to be updated because children and adults don’t need the same programs. So many of our early programs are based on changing ourselves in order to get more love, and unfortunately, those usually do not empower us.

When you know why, you are more likely to transform

And now you might think – why are you telling me all of this? I want to change my programs now; I don’t know about my brain as a kid, and if that is the case – fair enough! I’m gonna get to the point. However, it helps to know the intention and the why behind a new habit, so have a little bit more patience, and we’ll get there. 😉

You naturally enter a state of hypnosis at least twice a day

As adults, naturally, our brains enter periods of theta state (hypnosis) twice every day. In other words, two times a day, our brains are prepared to download information into our subconscious mind.

Okay, so when does this state occur, then?

Hypnosis and sleep

A state of hypnosis occurs when going in/out of sleep

Let’s revisit the concept of brain frequency that I mentioned earlier. The vibrational frequency of the brain is at its lowest during sleep, a state known as delta.

4 States of awareness and brain wave patterns:

  • Beta (alertness, active thinking, and concentration)
  • Alpha (relaxed alertness and light hypnosis)
  • Theta (day dreaming, deep hypnosis, drowsiness, and light sleep)
  • Delta (deep sleep).

The transition states

As you begin to wake up, but are not yet fully alert, you enter a transitional state where elements of the dream world combine with reality. This phase is called theta, which is also associated with hypnosis.

From deltathetaalpha

When you move from a deep sleep in delta, to waking consciousness, the vibrations start to increase, transitioning from theta to the higher vibrational state of alpha. In alpha, you remain awake, conscious, and calm.

You are fully alert at beta

As you go through your morning routines and prepare to start your day, your brain shifts from this calm alpha state to beta, which is the active state where you engage with the world around you.

After a busy day, you’ll start to wind down again

Once you come home after a day spent operating in beta, you begin to calm down. Your brain slips back into the lower vibrational frequency of alpha, where you find peaceful consciousness.

As you prepare to go to bed, your brain drops from alpha to theta as you start to fall asleep. Eventually, when you’re fully asleep, your brain moves from theta to delta. This means that as you transition from the alert state to sleep, you pass through theta once again.

A great time to download new ideas in your subconscious mind

Therefore, twice a day, your brain enters a state of hypnosis—theta. This is when you are particularly receptive to new ideas. That is why it is such a good idea to listen to an audio of the new beliefs you wish to download in your subconscious mind during this period.

How do the self-hypnosis recordings work practically?

As you go to bed, if you wear earphones and listen to an audio recording designed to introduce new programs for changing specific behaviors, you will gradually move from the calm state of alpha into theta. In this transitional state—a blend of wakefulness and the dream world—you are in a state of hypnosis.

What you listen to during this time will be directly downloaded into your subconscious mind, which is the essence of how sleep therapy hypnosis work practically.

Choose a recording with intention

If you want to modify a program in your subconscious mind or if there’s something in your life that isn’t functioning as you desire, you should select a recording aligned with the new beliefs and programs you wish to adopt.

Repetition is key

Each night, as you go to bed, simply put on your earphones, and you will engage in a process of self-hypnosis. This allows you to download new programs and beliefs, and with each session, the integration of these new ideas becomes more solidified.

2. Download new information to your subconscious mind through habits

Our subconscious mind integrates and downloads information through our habits. When we do something repeatedly, like entering a PIN code (read more further down), the subconscious mind records it and transforms it into an automatic program running 24/7.

subconscious mind and habits

A sticker note on the mirror is not a habit, but it can help you remember the action

So if you want to change a mental program, a belief in your life, you can do so by creating a habit. This requires repeating an action almost in a religious way.

Let me clarify: a sticky note on the mirrow is not a habit. It’s more of a “wish of a wish.” Every time you see it, it’s like saying, “I wish that were true,” but that doesn’t create a habit. It can remind you of doing the habit though. A habit requires consistent action—repeating it time and again.

Now, here’s an example: Suppose you want to learn your new PIN code, 5654. You start thinking about the numbers, and you may struggle to remember them initially.

Creating automatic programs in our subconscious mind

However, each time you pay using your card, you use your finger to input the numbers, and you repeat this new behavior.

After repeating the code enough times, it becomes part of your subconscious mind. Even if you consciously forget the numbers, your fingers might still know which keys to press when shopping. I know, often you don’t actually need to use your PIN code, but you get what I mean.

I hope this brief article about how to integrate new beliefs into your subconscious mind helped you better understand how you can use this tool to transform your life and break free from old habits that you want to leave behind.

Change can be easier than you might think!
